Welcome to my website!
Himanshu Sharma, PhD
Hi, I am an engineer turned biochemist interested in understanding how macromolecular assemblies function and evolve.
Research Interests
I have always been fascinated by the omnipresent process of protein synthesis. I earned a PhD in understanding how protein synthesising machines, called ribosomes are made in bacteria.

From there, I broadened my interest into how such large molecule machines work and evolve in nature. A particular area that fascinates me is the biology of infectious organisms and how these molecular machines contribute to disease progression and persistence of infection.
